Super Starts As VS CEO Sept. 9

Hillary Super, who had been named the CEO of the lingerie brand Savage X Fenty in June, 2023, was hired away by Victoria’s Secret where she starts as CEO and a board member on September 9.

Yahoo Finance reported that “according to The Star” she was “offered $18 million to abandon her post at Savage X Fenty,” adding that she will be working remotely.

VS board chair Donna James declared, “we are confident that Hillary can leverage VS&Co’s industry-leading brands with significant category and international expansion opportunities to accelerate growth and create shareholder value.” She thanked Martin Waters, who had served as CEO in recent years, “for his many contributions to Victoria’s Secret. He has established a foundation for VS&Co to enter its next chapter, building an inclusive culture, growing our digital platform capabilities, enhancing the customer experience online and in stores, repositioning our international business for growth, and successfully executing our multi-year separation from our former parent company. We believe now is the right time to take the next step on our journey with new merchant-operator leadership to fully capitalize on the opportunities ahead for VS&Co.”

Super’s previous experience included serving as Global CEO, Anthropologie Group, SVP at  Guess North America, as well as posts at American Eagle Outfitters, Old Navy and The Gap.
