Rigby & Peller: Now 3 Shops After Boston Exit

Rigby & Peller recently closed its shop in Boston, reducing the U.S. retail lingerie chain to just three locations.

Last September, before the closure, CFO of parent company Van de Velde, Karel Verlinde, told BODY that the firm had “successfully negotiated with our landlords” at other locations, and “as a result at least three stores will remain open.” The shop that closed was at 100 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02116.

Formerly doing business under the Intimacy name, the chain once numbered almost 20 locations, and was acquired by Van de Velde, in a series of transactions beginning in 2007. In 2015 the names of the all the U.S. Intimacy stores were changed to Rigby & Peller, a brand that Van de Velde took control of in 2011. Van de Velde owns other retail chains in Europe, as well as the PrimaDonna, Marie Jo and Andres Sarda wholesale brands. — NM
