Rigby & Peller Drops To Four U.S. Locations

Rigby & Peller recently “permanently closed” its lingerie shop at 104 5th Avenue, between 15th and 16th Street in Manhattan, leaving the chain with just four locations in the U.S.

The former Intimacy stores, which once numbered almost 20 locations, was acquired, in a series of transactions beginning in 2007, by Belgium-based Van de Velde NV. In 2015 the names of the all the U.S. Intimacy stores were changed to Rigby & Peller, a brand that Van de Velde took control of in 2011.

The four remaining shops are located in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston and at 1252 Madison Avenue in New York City.

The Belgium-based firm owns other retail chains in Europe, as well as the PrimaDonna, Marie Jo and Andres Sarda wholesale brands. — NM
