Calida Group, the intimate apparel specialist, which also owns the Aubade and Cosabella underwear brands, was sued in late March “for damages in the amount of 39 million euros” (about $42 million at current change rates), by Peugeot Frères Industrie, the recent purchaser of Calida’s garden furniture division, Lafuma Mobilier.

Calida, as part of its current strategy to focus on intimate apparel, had completed the sale of Lafuma Mobilier late last year, for an independently reported price of $55 million euros (about $59 million). The participants did not reveal the purchase price at the time, nor did Calida provide details concerning the current dispute.

Calida did note that it “has reviewed the complaint and the situation with its legal counsel and is of the opinion that both the claims asserted and the amount are without merit. As a result, Calida Group has dismissed the claims in their entirety vis-à-vis the purchaser. Calida Group will provide further information if and to the extent required.”

Above, from the Calida website, Natural Comfort Bodysuit (67 euros); right, Natural Comfort Lace Bra (82.50 euros) and Brief (50 euros).
