Deep Sawhney, owner of The Erogenous Zone (E-Zone), a sexy store in Philadelphia, said this Halloween season was slower at his store than last season, although sales did pick up close to Halloween. “We sold accessories more than costumes, which was true last year as well,” he said. “A lot of people were putting their own costumes together.”
Best-selling brands were Leg Avenue and Dreamgirl, as well as Rubie’s “because of their licensed costumes. They do more and more each year.”
In trends; “The cougar was big. People wanted leotards, jumpsuits and pirates again. Seductive gypsies were also in. Lady Gaga was very popular as well.”
He said about his expectations for 2011: “It all depends on the economy. I expect us to sell more accessories [once again]. I think everyone is at a different price range now: [they will spend] about $45 to $50 on a costume, whereas [they used to spend] in the $70 range.”
I want to receive more information from Erogenous Zone
