leg avenue:

According to Lisa Griffin, marketing manager of Leg Avenue, in order to succeed in the legwear market a manufacturer needs to stay on top of trends, offer good quality and fit, keep prices competitive and provide a wide selection of styles. Leg Avenue was founded as hosiery company over 20 years ago. Although it has since gone on the offer a wide array of other merchandise, Griffin said: “We take pride in continuing to offer a large selection of pantyhose; stockings; thigh-highs; socks; leggings; and leg warmers.” Best-selling styles consist of lycra industrial net backseam pantyhose (#9076); fishnet pantyhose (9001); sheer lace top thigh high (1011); nylon tights (7300); and opaque footless tights (7876). Black is generally the brand’s best-selling shade. Legwear runs in sizes OS and Q. In early 2009, Leg Avenue introduced legging styles, which Griffin said “are selling out fast!” For 2010, the company will add additional legging styles as well as new hosiery styles. Due to the recession, Leg Avenue has become even more conscious of its legwear price point. She added: “Hosiery is an inexpensive way to add a bit of color to any outfit. In a tough economy, when a purse or jewelry might not be in the budget, adding hosiery to an outfit can complete the look without breaking the bank.” She sees legwear as trending toward layering, bright prints and perforated lace.
