Alexandra Gerros, store manager of The Pink Slip, an intimate apparel boutique in New York City’s Grand Central Station, said: “I think first and foremost people are looking for comfort [in their shapewear]. The second most important consideration is how well the garment functions and how well it works on their ‘problem areas.’
“Size-wise, we get everybody, including S and M. Size S women are usually looking to shape a target area. We sell a lot of control top panties.”
When asked whether customers would respond to fashion-forward shapewear, Gerros said: “I think our customers would respond well to pretty shapewear, although we haven’t ventured there yet. Shapewear is something we sell everyday, [even though] it is not a huge part of our inventory.”
I want to receive more information from The Pink Slip
