You know that feeling you get when someone gets too close to your erogenous zones? Imagine walking into a store whose collections of sensual lingerie, dancewear and sexy shoes could invoke similar feelings of arousal. Such a store where customers may experience such euphoria exists, you may be happy to know, in Philadelphia. And it is called the Erogenous Zone - or E-Zone, as it is commonly referred.

The E-Zone first opened in 1988 when current owner, Deep S., was just six years old. Although today at 26, Deep is still a relatively young business owner, he is no rookie, especially in the intimate apparel industry. He began working in his father's dancewear shop on South Street when he was still in high school. This set the stage for Deep's gradual takeover of the family business, This was followed by Deep's acquisition of Lady Love, Dream, and most recently, E-Zone, which has been going through a major overhaul since Deep took over.

"I've had E-Zone for a few months now and already I have changed the whole image," said Deep.

In the three months that Deep has owned the store, he has re-organized the store's layout, and brought in new lingerie, dancewear and costume styles to keep up with trends. He also re-styled the store with a pink and white color scheme that Deep's opinion, "really helps the store stand out."

The 2,200 square-foot E-Zone, which in 2000, was named 'best place to go clothes shopping if you're a go-go dancer,' features items for the big and small alike. Sizes range from extra small to queen size. There is a wide selection of lingerie, dancewear and shoes from established sexy brands, including Leg Avenue, Dreamgirl, Shirley of Hollywood and Pleaser and Ellie shoes, which are to be the store's best sellers. These brands, according to Deep, help attract a diverse crowd, ranging from college students looking for sexy costumes, to local dancers from nearby gentlemen's clubs looking for outfits that will mesmerize patrons, and shoppers in their 60s who feel that fun is not just for the young. The store's "huge" collection of shoes-more than 300 styles-include heels ranging from low-to-the-ground 3-inches, to towering 9-inch stems.

The E-Zone further delivers on its pleasure promise to customers by offering superior customer support.
"We love working with our customers," explains Deep. "We will special-order anything they need; certain colors, sizes, etc."

Deep hopes to one day take his stores from the strip malls to the big malls, to get in more on the mainstream market. He hopes to achieve this within the next two years.

Deep S. already has three successful stores under his belt. He even designs lingerie for other companies. In the future, Deep hopes to continue offering the latest and greatest lingerie to his customers. With such dedication, and at the pace he is going, the competition may be in for some "Deep" trouble.
