Ted Vayos, BODY: Describe your four retail stores in Idaho and Nevada.
Kraig and Kara McGee: Our Adam & Eve Stores are well-lit, clean and organized. We pride ourselves in creating a comfortable and safe environment for women and couples to explore and learn about what products are available to them, and to provide a professional atmosphere when purchasing any item.
Ted: What makes your store special?
Kraig and Kara: The striking improvement over the “old school” adult store makes for a much more appealing and fun shopping experience. From the friendly, knowledgeable staff, to the wide variety of products, to the clean and classy store appearance, we easily outperform our competitors.
Ted: What do you look for in a brand?
Kraig and Kara: Quality and affordability are the two most important features of lingerie and novelty items. When it comes to lingerie, we look for sexy, sexy, sexy at different price points and sizes, so that every woman can feel and look beautiful and sensual! Burleska corsets have been an outstanding brand of corsets for us. Leg Avenue, iCollection, Shirley’s of Hollywood, Coquette, Escante and Dreamgirl have been staples, combining good quality and price with ultra sexy styles. Hustler and Hanky Panky are fantastic panty lines for us, especially in crotchless styles. Recent additions to our store are Andrew Christian, for men’s wear, and Daisy Corsets, who make corsets up to size 6X!
Ted: Describe popular styles or trends in your store.
Kraig and Kara: Pin-up is a popular style trend in lingerie, along with bright neon colors. Also, the “50 Shades of Grey” phenomenon sparked a lot of interest in bondage and we have seen a huge spike in the sale of all types of bondage products, from books to DVDs to masks, whips, leather and handcuffs.
Ted: Describe your price points and size ranges.
Kraig and Kara: We offer lingerie in sizes XS to 4X for prices that range from $15.99 to $150.99!
Ted: What is your typical or average customer size.
Kraig and Kara: Our customer base varies greatly in size and age, but our typical customer size is M/L or 36/38.
Ted: What does the average customer spend per visit to your store?
Kraig and Kara: Our average sale is around $40.
Ted: Describe your customer.
Kraig and Kara: The majority of our customers are middle class women, ages 25 to 45.
Ted: Do you have any other information you ish to share with our readers?
Kraig and Kara: Adam & Eve store in Idaho have come a long way since the first store opening in 2007. We now have four stores and plan on opening three more. Our first store in Nampa broke ground in 2007, followed by our Coeur d’Alene store in 2008, and Boise in 2010. We believe in providing a safe friendly environment for women, men and couples to explore romance and erotica. We carry everything from flirty lingerie, bachelor and bachelorette gifts, instructional material to lively games, all designed to help re-ignite the spark in a couple’s relationship. By offering the highest quality of products and excellent, educated customer service, we maintain the integrity that our customers have come to expect over the years. We pride ourselves in keeping our stores well lit, clean and beautifully merchandised so that it is easy for customers to navigate the store. We are very excited to see the Adam & Eve stores in Idaho bloom with so much success. Our Coeur d’Alene location has won the “highest mystery shop” award several times from the Adam & Eve corporation. The Nampa location won an “Outstanding Performance” award and we won “Operator of the Year”, out of all the franchisees, in 2010. In 2013 the Adam & Eve franchise won “Retailer of the Year-Chain”.
