Ted Vayos, BODY: Describe your store.

Chantale Gosselin: The store is located on main street in the centre of Victoriaville where liveliness is. We are part of a small shopping mall, but with our main entrance on the street. A second entrance in the back of the store runs into a large parking lot.

When we renovated the store in 2010, we have put the accent on elegance and comfort. The soft beige and brown colors are accented with turquoise, aqua and lime colors. To obtain a flattering and elegant lighting we have chosen centre lights decorated with shellfish pearls. However, within the next few months we plan to change our colors in order to bring a different style to our boutique.

We are using 1300 square feet of floor. The renovations of 2010 brought additional space to show all the different styles of lingerie, nightwear and swimsuits offered in sizes up to 44 H. The renovations give us also more warehouse spaces.

Furthermore we now have five cabins which are larger and better adapted for intimacy. Our customers are very grateful for these innovations.

Our products are offered from classic, romantic and sporty styles to please trendy business women, athletic women as well as the sophisticated ones.

Ted: What makes your store special?

Chantale: Since we are in business we have put the accent on our customers’ satisfaction.

With the high quality products offered to our clientele, comes the best fitting service our customers can get and adequate information to take proper care of the garment newly bought. Our fitting service is essential since studies and surveys have proven that 80 % of women wear the wrong size of bra! Our customers are touched by our thoughtfulness.

Our excellent service during all these years has proven to be the key to our success. Our clientele is a lifetime one.

Ted: What do you look for in a brand?

Chantale: Our main concern being our customers’ satisfaction, we look for renowned brand names, quality in fabrication and fitting and after sales service. A high quality product will last longer and fit better; this is what our customers are looking for.
We also deal with people able to supply us rapidly with merchandise. This is a must to us.

Customer service is also our priority: if a problem arises with a garment, dealing with responsible companies is also a guaranty of good after sales service.

We deal with Prima Dona, Marie-Jo, Chantelle, Simone Pérèle, etc. for corsetry. For nightwear we refer, among others, to Frou-Frou, Arianne, Cilvin and Claudel. We find that Seafolly, Sunflair, Christina, Simon Chang, etc. are a reference in swimwear.

Ted: What are the latest trends?

Chantale: Corsetry and swimwear are our best sellers. They represent approximately 85% of our sales.

Our customers are strongly attracted to colors in corsetry; we therefore carry an inventory which will satisfy them.

Our customers, being aware of the latest trends in corsetry, are now looking for the pre 1940’s style presently in fashion.

Ted: Describe your price points and size ranges.

Chantale: We are renowned for our fine lingerie offered in sizes from 30 to 44 in A to H cups. These sizes are for lingerie and nightwear, but also for swimwear and beachwear.

As to our prices they can suit every budget, Our bras price from $36 to $200, our swimwear and beachwear from $60 to $250. As to the nightwear, prices range from $30 to $200.

Ted: What is your typical or average customer size?

Chantale: The average customer wears from 34 D to 34 E.

Ted: What does the average customer spend per visit to your store?

Chantale: Our average customer will spend from $200 to $300 per visit. However out of town customers will spend much more since they come less often.

Ted: Describe your customer.

Chantale: Our customer is a woman between 30 and 60 years of age, looking for high quality products with a je ne sais quoi which will catch her eye and will make her feel good.

All our customers are looking for the trendy piece of garment which will make them feel beautiful and desirable.

Ted: What else can you tell us about your business?

Chantale: Since each detail is important in the women’s world we make sure that our windows are always attractive and to do so we refer to the expertise of a designer. Our windows are our image de marque.

We are one of the 10 largest lingerie stores in Eastern Quebec. Our faithful customers will not hesitate to drive 50 miles to come to our boutique.

Our success is due to our dedicated sales team always attentive to our customers’ needs. When a customer walks in our boutique she is sure to find what she is looking for in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
