Amy Elgart: G boutique satisfies all of your womanly wiles. Designed for comfortable, easy shopping experiences, g welcomes women into the world of femininity. G boutique is a place to purchase everything you need to enhance your already fabulous romantic life. From over 35 brands of exquisite lingerie to books, DVD’s, toys, lubricants, massage oils, and candles, g celebrates the sensual world we live in. The fit experts at g boutique want you to look good and feel good in everyday basics and your sexiest negligee.

Ted: What makes your store special?

Amy: Our sales associates make us special. At g boutique everyone gets individual attention. From bra fittings to toy buying, our associates educate and advise. We invite you into our world where hospitality and service are part of every shopping experience.

Ted: What do you look for in a brand?

Amy:Our vendors are our partners. We expect honesty and integrity. We look for brands that stand behind their product and reps that are knowledgeable and will guide us through the lines but help us make smart decisions for our customers. Since we offer many different price points to our customers, we must always focus on quality and craftsmanship. We stand behind the product we sell to our customers and expect the same from our vendors. Right now important brands include; Eberjey, Natori Basics, Maison Clos,Elle Macpherson, Fleurt, Empire, Simone Perele, Cosabella, Irely.

Ted: Describe popular styles or trends in your store.

Amy:Right now our sales are trending towards sexy comfort and strong colors. Soft fabrics in babydolls, rompers, and chemises always do well for us. The corset is still a strong seller and going into holiday we are looking at sheer color.

Ted: Describe your price points and size ranges.

Amy: Our price points go from moderate to better and our size ranges XS-XL. In bras we go up to a 42G.

Ted: What is your average customer size?

Amy: Our average customer is a small or medium.

Ted: What does the average customer spend per visit to your store?

Amy: $100.00

Ted: Describe your customer base.

Amy: Our customer base varies seasonally. Most of the year we see women 25-35 buying for themselves and for gifts. Our male customer base takes over around holiday season. We also have a sophisticated mature female customer 40-70 that is very important to our business.

Ted: What other information would you like to share?

Amy: g boutique is a concept developed by women, for women. G is a girlfriend thing!

g boutique began ten years ago when founders Cheryl Sloane and Kari Kupcinet-Kriser realized that Chicago needed a shop where beautiful lingerie and erotica were both available. Since it’s opening, g boutique has served individuals and couples through informative programming, a knowledgeable staff and the belief that no question is too embarrassing to ask.

Our customers are a community of women and men who love the pleasure of romance. They celebrate the g experience by shopping for lingerie and toys, taking a workshop or hosting a party. g is where sensuality and sexuality are talked about openly – it’s a place for women to feel good about themselves.
