Amanda Torres Price, BODY: Describe your store.

C.K.: Our concept is that we identify the best brands in many product categories for women, men and children. The store uses an eclectic mix of modern and antique cabinets and display cases [to show] the longevity and quality of the wonderful brands we offer.  The store is compartmentalized to display women’s intimates, women’s beauty, home, men’s and baby items. We offer some wonderful intimates lines like Sassybax (best problem solver for the woman’s back); Hanky Panky (best and most comfortable thong); Wacoal (best quality bra); Barefoot Dreams (most comfortable robe); and more. We also offer house slippers and boots by UGG, tote bags by Longchamp and more. 

A.T.P.: What makes your store special?

C.K.: We offer what we believe are the best, hard-to-find or unique items available.  We do the homework for our customers [and] select an item because it works really well or is a really special item. Our customers are very important to us and we have a well trained and caring customer service team. We ship everything for free no matter the price point and we gift wrap for free year-round.

A.T.P.: What brands are important to your store?

C.K.: Sassybax; Wacoal; Spanx; Barefoot Dreams; Longchamp; and UGG.

A.T.P.: What is your price range?

C.K.: We offer items that range in price from $5 to $10,000; from a Dermablend Sample Set to a Royal-Pedic mattress set. In slimming wear, we offer all sizes [from those for] the XS person who feels she has a small area she wants to conceal, to [those for] the larger woman. We believe if there is a need or a size wanted we should try to fulfill it.

A.T.P.: What does your average customer spend per visit?

C.K.: Online, our average order is $100.  In our store, the average order is $150.

A.T.P.: What is your typical customer size?

C.K.: Size 8 to 10.

A.T.P.: What trends are popular among your customers?

C.K.: We have found that people want quality and are looking for things that make them feel and/or look good.  We do well with our slimming products. We also find once our customers get home they want to relax and be comfortable.  They love the soft, cushy feel of items like cozy robes that you can wrap yourself in or the softness and warmth of UGG slippers.

A.T.P.: Who is your customer base made up of?

C.K.: Although we have both male and female customers, the majority are female between 25 and 50-years-old with busy lives.  They are either busy being full-time mothers, career women or both.  The want quality products and great service.  They don’t have time to go shopping at the mall and spend hours. They come into our store or our online store and quickly make the purchases they need.  They may have questions and they know we have a staff who can answer them. 

A.T.P.: What other information would you like to share about your store?

C.K.: When you shop with us, we do everything possible to make sure we fill your needs.  We have two mottos:  “Live, love, laugh and shop,” and “Work hard, play hard, shop easy!”
