C.W.: Over the past year, Corning Leather & Lace Intimate Clothing Boutique, located in the Historic Gaffer District of beautiful Corning, N.Y., has been fashioning fantasy into reality, mild to wild, for many in the area [...] Nestled in the Finger Lakes area, Corning Leather & Lace offers a diverse selection of lingerie [...] For a somewhat conservative area, the boutique has been well-received and has developed regular patrons.

A.T.P.: What makes your store special?
C.W.: Other than adult stores and department stores there is very limited lingerie in the area. Boutique shopping offers a unique shopping experience, as it is personal, elegant and affordable.

A.T.P.: What brands are particularly important?

C.W.: Elegant Moments; René Rofé; Sophie B.; Oscar de la Renta; Fantasy Lingerie; Espiral; Leg Avenue; and Native Intimates. These are diverse brands catering to the tastes of many.

A.T.P.: What trends or styles are currently popular?

C.W.: No one particular style sells more than others, but if I had to choose I would say baby dolls, chemises, corsets and men’s thongs.

C.W.: Sizes run from S to 3X and prices from $15 to $75.

A.T.P.: Who is your customer base made up of?

C.W.: Primarily women from ages 25 to 50 and men in their 40’s.

A.T.P.: What is your typical or average customer size?

C.W.: The majority of our customers range from M to XL.

A.T.P.: What does your typical customer spend per visit to your store?

C.W.: $35 to $40.
