Because the foundation of every woman's wardrobe is lingerie, Kansas based Clair de Lune provides well-constructed, beautiful lingerie that supports bodies properly and makes customers feel just as beautiful underneath as they do with the clothing worn on top.
On October 1, 2004, Terry Levine opened Clair de Lune with two things in mind: to carry sizes and brands that customers would not be able to find anywhere else, and to provide unmatched service.
"Women from ages 25 to 70 visit us with household incomes that are $50,000 plus," said Levine.
For Terry Levine, wearing the right bra size is just as important as choosing the right bra style, and that's exactly why bra fitting is paramount when helping customers find proper lingerie.
"We have a fitting specialist on staff-bra fitting is our number one strength," said owner Terry Levine.
The boutique sells numerous brands and styles of lingerie, but the hottest and most requested brands are Chantelle, Hanky Panky, Fantasie/Freya, and the most popular items are t-shirt bras. Levine has been with the small boutique since its inception, and has noticed varying spending habits of the customers.
"More younger women under 25 are willing to spend money for a good fitting bra," said Levine.
Bras are priced from $65 to $100, and panties are priced up to $50. A typical Clair de Lune customer spends $150 to $200 and shops every couple of months. Designed to pamper women while educating them, Clair de Lune holds bridal showers and bachelorette parties complete with champagne, appetizers and lingerie sampling from time to time. The 1,000 sq. ft store also caters to men as it holds gentlemen's night events prior to Christmas and Valentine's day where men are invited to shop with their buddies and enjoy beer, wine, lingerie models and amazing personal service.
"Our boutique is a place where we know your name and your size when you walk in. It's a classy boutique that exudes charm and ambience without being stuffy," said Levine.
