(Filed Under wholesale Men's Underwear News). Jason Sutherland, creative director and founder of Ginch Gonch, is no longer with the six-year-old company. Sutherland confirmed last month that he had left the Montreal-based men's underwear wholesaler, known for its racy advertising campaigns and brightly-colored prints. According to Sutherland, he left the company to start a new brand called Piss & Vinegar.
Sutherland has experienced a fair share of financial trouble with Ginch Gonch in recent years, which may have spurred his departure. As previously reported in BODY, the company filed for bankruptcy in June 2008, and was bought by Montreal-based funding firm New Equity Capital that July. As a result of the acquisition, Ginch Gonch moved from Vancouver to Montreal, and Naomi Ronn, president of textile trading company Domestic Converters, replaced Sutherland as CEO.
