(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). While it would be impossible for even the most well-known intimates e-tailer to compete with the likes of google.com—the undisputed most-frequently visited site on the Internet—or any other major search engine, many industry retailers with an e-commerce platform are getting an impressive amount of traffic. To answer the question of who exactly gets the most web hits, BODY referred to Alexa.com, a web information subsidiary of Amazon.com, which tracks website rankings based on a combination of page views and number of visitors over a three month period. These were the site's results as of September 2nd.

While Alexa.com's list of Top 500 sites was relatively sparse when it came to apparel companies, Walmart.com and Target.com made the cut; ranked 259 and 296, respectively. Wal-Mart launched its online platform in 1996, while Target's launched in 1997.

The list grew much longer in Alexa.com's top 100,000 category. Victoriassecret.com—online since 1995—topped the list for intimates retailers at 1,025. Plus-size retailer LaneBryant.com, also with an online presence since 1995, was next at 12,516. Among intimate apparel retailers dedicated exclusively to e-commerce, BareNecessities.com beat out Freshpair.com and Herrroom.com with a rank of 17,222, (Freshpair.com was ranked 37,951 followed by Herroom.com at 50,438). BareNecessities.com and Herroom.com have both been online since 1998, while Freshpair.com has been online since 2000. Also in the top 100 was Hanes.com (39,237); and Jockey.com (77,124); as well as plus-size intimates and apparel e-tailer Jms.com (43,914); and men's e-tailer InternationalJock.com (75,870); which beat out other e-tailers dedicated exclusively to men's underwear, and was the only company in this category ranked in the top 100,000.

Although the sites named below fell short of the top 100,000, they weren't far behind. Full-figured lingerie e-tailer BiggerBras.com, which has been online since 1998, was ranked 101,019, followed by Aussiebum.com—the site of Australian men's underwear brand Aussiebum, which has been online since 2002—at number 109,375. HipsandCurves.com, an e-tailer of plus-sized lingerie, was ranked 110,871 and has been online since 1999. Also ranked relatively high in the men's category was AbcUnderwear.com at 116,680, which has been online since 2002; MensUnderwearStore.com at 148,399, online since 2001; and Hisroom.com at 175,000, the male counterpart to Herroom.com, which has been online since 1999.

Bare Necessities' newest online sites, Lingerie.com and Shapewear.com, which were launched earlier this summer, ranked 199,755 and 1,764,457, respectively. Lingerie.com has grown 130 percent since launching in June 2009.
