(Filed Under Fashion News). Kohl's Corporation is expanding its presence in California this fall. Of the 37 stores the discount, department store retailer is slated to open this October, 30 will open throughout California in locations including Redwood City; Eureka; Napa; Millbrae; Redondo Beach; and Whittier. According to reports, the company claims that the six stores opening in the state's Bay Area will create 1,000 new jobs.

The company's additional October store openings are slated for Florida; Louisiana; Nevada; Texas; and Utah.

Kohl's carries intimate apparel brands including Chaps; Bali; Playtex; Maidenform; Vanity Fair; Lilly of France; Olga; Flexees; Jaclyn Intimates; and Croft & Barrow.

As of July 4th, 2009, Kohl's operated 1,022 stores in 49 states compared with 957 stores in 47 states at the same time last year.
