Hanesbrands, Inc. has cited $986 million in net sales for the second quarter ended July 4, 2009 — an 8 percent drop from last year's second quarter, which saw net sales of $1.07 billion. According to the company, this 8 percent sales decline is still better than the decline rate of the past two sequential quarters, which were also impacted negatively by the recession.
Innerwear net sales were $612 million compared with $636 million during last year's quarter, while hosiery net sales dropped from $50 million in 2008 to $43 million.
