(Filed Under Textiles News). On July 15th, the fibers division of Israeli-based Nilit held a conference in Yiwu, Zhejiang province of China, which was attended by approximately 200 international manufacturers of hosiery, seamless bodywear and intimate apparel. In 2008, Nilit opened production facilities in Suzhou, China, expanding its activity in the country. The company reported that the conference "reflected Nilit's vision of offering a comprehensive service to its Chinese customers and its continuing efforts to build strong relationships with major manufacturers in the region."
The event included a luncheon, a fashion show featuring concept garments made from Nilit's environmentally-friendly Ecocare fiber, as well as bodywear and activewear styles from the industry. The company's key players also lead talks, as did Israeli fashion designer and trend consultant for Nilit Ilana Joselowitz. In his welcome address, Rami Bitensky, general manager of Nilit Suzhou, remarked: "Our goal in Nilit China is to provide manufacturers with the best raw materials in order to produce the finest garments which should compete all over the world with not only lower prices but with top quality and innovation."
Since the conference, Nilit's Ecocare fiber has been granted certification by the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a third-party environmental sustainability authorizer.
