(Filed Under wholesale Plus Size News). Seven 'Til Midnight, a sexy costume brand by the company Carrie Amber Inc., has "sold out of all plus size styles this season," said Jeanne Tu, executive assistant for Carrie Amber. The company is based out of Los Angeles.
On October 7th, Janice Dickinson's "Modeling Agency" season premiere aired on the Oxygen network and it featured a full photo shoot of Seven 'Til Midnight's plus size costumes, including the 'midnight sizzle' and the 'room service' costume. "We had about over 50,000 hits on our site after the episode aired," said Tu. "We have a lot more customers calling us, not just retailers."
The brand was also featured on Oct. 28th on Good Day L.A., which is "one of the hit morning talk shows in Los Angeles on the FOX network, so the costumes got a lot of local publicity," said Tu.
The costumes are designed for the "every day woman of all sizes," said Tu. "We want to make it so it's not over the top sexy. We want to make sure people look sexy, but also kind of modest." Although not all costumes are available in the plus sizes, many of them are available in sizes up to 4X.
The costumes vary in fabrics and cuts. They are "really high quality, it's not something that you'd wear for just Halloween. You could wear it over and over again. We have a lot of customers telling us that the costumes are rental quality," said Tu.
"We're really fashionable and our designs are fashion forward. It's not just 'your basic design,' we looked at forthcoming fashion developments, such as what colors are going to be hot, and what fabrics are being developed," said Tu. "Also, we are a sexy line but not over the top sexy. This way, everyone can wear it and you don't have to be a size 0," she added.
The collection currently features over 100 costumes, however in 2009 the company plans on increasing its plus size selection by over 50 percent. "We've turned a lot of our best sellers into plus size, like the 'Heidi Ho.' We designed it to have a little more coverage, but it's still a sexy costume," said Tu. The first preview of the new designs will be shown at the International Halloween show in New York, which will take place December 8th through the 11th, 2008.
