(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). At the upcoming market, International Intimates will be showing approximately 20 new additions to their FIT line—the first shapewear line created under the René Rofé label, which debuted in 2006.
The line wholesales between $4 (seamless control panties) and $12 (control slimming underwire slip dress) and is available in sizes M through XL, with select styles also available in S. According to Eve Bastug, VP of product development and R&D and senior designer for the FIT line, this is the first time the company will be offering size S as an option for shapewear.
Silhouettes include bike shorts, slip dresses, shaping boyshorts and a strapless slip dress in black and nude, with plans of adding Jacquards in November.
FIT, which stands for "figure improving technology"—a name created by René Rofé's wife—is not geared toward a specific consumer, but a particular lifestyle, said Bastug. "We fit anywhere from the department store level to Marshalls, so a lot of this product fits at all those levels. I think [the consumer buying FIT] is a different person at a different retail level. We sell to Joyce Leslie, and I think that consumer is much younger and is buying the product to wear out, whereas someone in their 40's will buy it truly for shaping benefits."
