(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). For the spring 2010 season, New York-based loungewear wholesaler La Cera will add expand its tie-dye collection, which currently consists of 12 basic T-shirt dresses. Pieces will wholesale for $20 to $25 with sizes running from S through 4X.
"Tie-dye is an area that continues to do well for us because we have a lot of customers in the islands, the Caribbean and even South America," Erin Buckley, the company's merchandising manager, said.
The collection will begin shipping this August to stores in the Caribbean, whose spring season begins as early as September. They will hit U.S. stores in January 2009. The 20 new styles include convertible tube dress, a knit maxi dress, a short chemise dress and a chiffon tunic.
Although La Cera apparel is generally geared toward the missy market, Buckley reported that the two-year-old tie-dye collection has been most popular among young women. However, she believes that "an older customer will like the styles as well if they try them on."
La Cera can be seen at boutiques nationwide, in the Caribbean, and in South America including the Boston-based chain Lady Grace Intimate Apparel. The brand can also be found in the Casual Living Online Catalog, and at the Rhinebeck Department Store in Rhinebeck, N.Y.
