(Filed Under Fashion News). In an effort to expand its international presence,Gap Inc. has signed an agreement with Armin Systems Limited to open its first stores in Thailand in Spring 2010. This is in addition to previously announced agreements to introduce Gap and Banana Republic stores in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Romania, Egypt and Israel.
"We're pleased to expand in Southeast Asia with such a well-respected partner," Ron Young, senior vice president of international strategic alliances for the company, said. "Armin Systems Limited is an experienced retailer in Thailand with a deep understanding of the marketplace and we're excited to join with them to offer the Gap brand to our customers in Thailand."
Gap and it's franchise partners currently operate 100 Gap and 34 Banana Republic stores carrying merchandise including intimates, activewear and swimwear in 17 countries including Mexico, Russia, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, The Philippines.
