Although Nancy Ganz has no current plans to return to the intimate apparel industry, she continues to work as a designer of sorts through her online invention: Fashion Fantasy Game, which launched on the web approximately one year ago and recently reached the marker of 500,000 registered users.
Ganz, best known for designing the Hipslip and BodySlimmers line in 1990s, which she later sold to Warnaco, was inspired by her 13-year-old daughter and her generation's web-savviness in creating the game. Her goal with the game, which is free to play and $30 when one becomes a "VIP" member, is first and foremost funtweens and teens choose whether to be a designer or shop owner, create their own profile page and network socially, and choose from at least 15 different functionalitiesmixed with some real-world education.
Although Ganz qualified that "it's hard to say" what the average customer's age is, she estimates that the majority are girls aged 13 to 16.
Ganz' plans for Fashion Fantasy Game include upgrading each page and adding about 10 additional pages.
