(Filed Under Fashion News). Six mills from Mauritius, an island nation off the coast of Africa, will be making their debut at this year’s Texworld USA, which will return to New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center July 14th through the 16th.
The debut is made possible through Enterprise Mauritius, a collaborative partnership between industry and government that aims to help businesses in Mauritius to expand into regional and international markets, while also developing their internal capability to meet the challenges of international competition.
The six mills are Firemount Textiles Ltd.; Palmar Limitée Knits; Palmar Limitée Wovens; RS Denim Ltd.; RT Knits; and Star Knitwear group.
Of these mills, RT Knits and Star Knitwear group offer textiles that cater to many industries, including intimate apparel, loungewear and activewear.
RT Knits offers fabrics with the following composition: 100 percent cotton; cotton/polyester; cotton/acrylic; cotton/modal; bamboo; polyamide; viscose; organic cotton; tencel; micro-polyester; modal/micromodal with elastane; and viscose with elastane.
Star Knitwear Group produces knitted fabric ranging form the most basic cotton to fleece, lycra jersey, interlock, jacquard, pique, spectra dyed, feeder and engineered strip to very delicate fabrics using Lyocell yarn.
