The trendy, discount retailer, whose merchandise includes intimates geared toward teenagers and the woman in her 20s, has submitted bids to a bankruptcy court to take over three Gottschalks stores and 13 leases for $17.7. Gottschalks filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year.

The stores Forever 21 has bid for are located in Hanford, San Luis Obispo and Yuba City, California. According to reports, Macy’s has also bid for Gottschalk locations in River Park and the Visalia Mall in California.
