(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Leg Avenue is kicking its three-year-old Skinny Dip swimwear brand up a notch with the recent hiring of swim sales representative, Sierra Fitch.
Fitch, who began her employment with the company in mid-April, will be solely responsible for the Skinny Dip line. She has over eight years experience in swimwear sales, and spent the last five years as an independent sales representative for up-scale and moderately priced surf and swimwear brands including Cia.Maritima and Havaianas.
Fitch expressed excitement over her new position.
"Having previously worked in the Northern and Southern California regions, I saw an opportunity for growth on the national level with Skinny Dip," she said. "I really, truly believe that Leg Avenue’s other divisions are extremely popular, and I plan on bringing Skinny Dip to that level. There is so much growth potential for the brand."
Skinny Dip wholesales for between $15 and $35, and retails in the range of $30 to $70. Suits run in sizes S through L in the Day and Evening collections.
Fitch described the Day collection, which consists of two-piece bikinis, as geared toward the junior customer, although she believes the variety of skimpy to modest suits will appeal to everyone from teenagers to women in their 30s. Day best sellers include a retro-inspired eyelet ruffled suit, a center-ring hot pink polka-dotted halter top, and nautical-inspired suits.
Fitch described Evening as "more sophisticated and sexy" with several bikinis and monokinis embellished with rhinestone, pearl, and charm detailing. Black is the collection’s prominent shade, which is geared toward Leg Avenue’s preexisting customer base.
Although retailers who currently carry Skinny Dip consist of Leg Avenue’s preexisting customers, Fitch hopes to branch out into new markets. She will attend the upcoming I.S.A.M and Miami Swim tradeshows.
