(Filed Under Adult News). Higher Loyalty, which launched last September, is a new brand that strives “to reach a higher standard for organic underwear,” according to co-founder Jessica Owusu-Afriyie.
The other co-founder, “Shelby Jones took a leap of faith to develop her own fashion line after ten years of climbing the corporate ladder in the finance world,” while Owusu-Afriyie has spend nearly two decades “in the intimate apparel industry. We are both passionate about sustainability as an ethical principle in our everyday lives and careers.”
The name of the brand, Higher Loyalty, comes from “a line in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s book “Strength to Love.” Higher Loyalty is a testament to the idea that deep fulfillment comes in pursuing one’s passion.”
“Higher Loyalty was started in response to the synthetic, petrochemical based materials currently dominating the women’s lingerie sector,” Owusu-Afriyie continued. “We found that when it comes to buying lingerie, a woman’s option is either beautiful products made from synthetic materials or natural fiber options that lack the feminine, sexy aesthetic that many women still want. There was a white space for the consumer who is looking for undergarments made from organic, natural fibers but still wanting feminine silhouettes and the beauty of lace. We are committed to offering intimate apparel that is sexy, safe, and sustainable.”
“We use an organic, naturally colored cotton fiber to knit our premium quality materials, including our stretch lace that took years to develop. We use our naturally toned cotton in its raw color which allows us to eliminate the bleaching and dyeing processes for our cotton. Not only does this provide materials that are clean and toxin free, but it helps to reduce our impact on the earth by drastically reducing water, energy and chemical usage throughout our production life cycle. Our red-brown cotton varietals are inherently antimicrobial and non-allergenic, more resilient to washing and become richer in color over time.”
The collection currently includes “four different underwear styles including a high leg brief, French cut thong with lace waistband, all-lace thong, and a g-string. We have one triangle bralette, a crop tank and a full length tank. Our G-string is the opening price point and wholesales for $19.50. The full length tank is our highest price point and wholesales at $44.50.” The most popular styles are “Our Daily All Lace Thong and our tank tops.”
“We currently carry size Small through Extra Large in all styles, and our bralette comes in a small cup and full cup option in each size. We plan to expand our size range soon to XS through XXL.” One color is offered: “coyote, which is a natural, earthy tan tone.”
The company’s ethical approach extends to the packaging. “As a sustainable brand we aim to reduce waste wherever possible. Our hang tags are made from FSC recycled paper, and cotton string with recycled plastic lock. Our direct to consumer orders are shipped in our custom designed recycled tissue paper with a branded allover print showing our cotton bolls.”
Higher Loyalty has been selling direct to consumers off its website and is looking to expand wholesale. The first retail location was the “Botanica Day Spa in the Tampa Bay area,” concluded Owusu-Afriyie.
