Gina Group Launches Fall Lines

(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). While the economy has mainly affected manufacturers and retailers negatively, Gina Group says their products have become even more relevant in this time.

“At a time when most consumers are not buying expensive clothes, we are ecstatic that they are still buying accessories to spice up outfits that already exist in their closets,” said Jen Green, the company’s design director. “We believe that will be the case for fall 2009, especially with tights.”

The company produces hosiery for its three licenses: Rocawear, Steve Madden and Unionbay, in addition to its in-house line, which is sold under the Gina Group brands or for private label development.

“Our in-house fall 2009 line is very interesting with key fun items such as neon buffalo plaid knee highs, heavy knit leg warmers with pom-pom details and lurexed paper printed tights in animal prints, plaids and houndstooth patterns,” said Green.

She added that the most exciting new item is the company’s Layer it Up 2 pack, which can be worn three different ways. “The two pack tight consists of a bright, usually neon, opaque tight and a black openwork patterned tight,” said Green. “[They] can be worn separately or layered together for a hot new look.” This product wholesales at $4.50, with the whole line wholesaling between $1.50 and $5.

Additionally, a new Steve Madden legwear line will be hitting stores this fall, which will be sold in Steve Madden stores, department stores and online under a license acquired by the Gina Group in 2008.

In the beginning of May, the company will launch a new website. Although it has not officially launched or been finalized, a sneak peek may be seen at, said Green.

“With the launch of our new website, there will be more focus on our three licenses and the Gina Group brands,” she said. “There is also a section for buyers to log into our ‘showroom’ and view the lines, as well as upcoming events.”
