(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Aerie operating income soared 132% to $70,646,000 in the quarter ended July 31, “reflecting a 21.0% operating margin.” Total net revenue rose 34% to $335,795,000 for the intimates division of American Eagle Outfitters (AEO).
In the same quarter last year, operating income for Aerie was $30,404,000 on net revenue of $251,511,000.
“Led by an expanding customer file, Aerie is achieving consistent, robust multi-year growth and very strong profit flow through,” explained Jay Schottenstein, AEO’s Executive Chairman of the Board and CEO.
Parent company AEO, which also offers a variety of other apparel for men and women, earned $121.5 million on sales of $1.194 billion in the quarter, compared to a loss of $13.8 million on sales of $883.5 milion in the quarter ended August 1, 2020. —NM
