(Filed Under wholesale Sleepwear News). Pajameez by Shapeez, the new collection of luxury bamboo pajamas and loungewear, began shipping in mid-July, and has just launched a new, dedicated website for the label.

“The reaction has been tremendous,” said CFO and co-founder David Berner. “What is particularly exciting for us is that Pajameez now makes the Shapeez brand available — not just to stores that sell intimates — but to a whole new category of sleepwear, loungewear and bedding shops. And all the department store buyers in those new categories.”

15 years ago co-founder Staci Berner invented the first Shapeez Ultimate bra, designed to eliminate the look of back fat, bulges and visible bra lines, while at the same time providing full bra support and 360 degree shaping. “We have build a powerful brand over the years. And now we are ready to add new categories. Pajameez is the first, but expect more to come,” she explained.

The new line includes several short pajama sets (wholesale $39, retail $78), a long sleeve set (wholesale $44.50, retail $89) and a lounge pant (wholesale $24, retail $48). Four sizes are offered: small, medium, large and extra large. The initial color offering includes black or platinum grey with white or black piping or lace. “Staci has redesigned the classic fit of traditional two-piece pajama sets,” explained David Berner. “Our A-line top is loose and flowy and has a longer length to cover your tush. And our wide leg pants with flat side seams are comfortable and slimming, with an elastic, non-binding drawstring waistband.”

“Based on the initial reaction we are now expanding from solids, to add a variety of prints, starting with a wonderful leopard print that will be available this fall. Moving forward we will have new colors that follow the seasons and various holidays.”

“And we are creating Pajameez gift sets, which will include different combinations, such as a lounge pant with two different tops and an accessory. These will be great for holiday giving, around Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day. This is something the stores have been asking for.”
