(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Shapeez is launching its first lounge and sleepwear collection: Pajameez by Shapeez.
“We’ve been gradually expanding our product line for years,” explained CFO and co founder David Berner. “And we’ve wanted to move into pajama’s for some time. In fact, we trademarked the Pajameez name several years ago. Now the timing is perfect due to so many women at home with work/play situations.”
15 years ago co-founder Staci Berner invented the first Shapeez Ultimate bra, designed to “eliminate the look of back fat, bulges and visible bra lines, while at the same time providing full bra support and 360 degree shaping,” she explained. “Since then the collection has grown to over 16 bra and intimates styles.”
Added David Berner, “consumers and retailers have come to love and trust the Shapeez name. And Staci has come through for them again with Pajameez.”
“All the pieces are made of a blend of 95% bamboo and 5% spandex jersey, and have a luxurious look and a soft, silky feel. We have redesigned the classic fit of traditional two-piece pajama sets. Our A-line top is loose and flowy and has a longer length to cover your tush. And our wide leg pants with flat side seams are comfortable and slimming, with an elastic, non-binding drawstring waistband. On top of that, we’ve priced the line to provide retailers with excellent margins and price points.”
The new collection includes several short pajama sets (wholesale $39, retail $78), a long sleeve set (wholesale $44.50, retail $89) and a lounge pant (wholesale $24, retail $48). Four sizes are offered: small, medium, large and extra large. The pajama sets come in a variety of colors and are decorated with either contrast piping or lace.
Shapeez is particularly excited about the many benefits and positive aspects of bamboo. “Bamboo fabrics offer excellent ventilation and heat regulation, while at the same time providing a wonderfully soft feel and luxurious look similar to more expensive PJ’s,” said Staci Berner. “And bamboo is hypo allergenic and crease resistant.”
In addition, continued David Berner, “bamboo is a far more sustainable textile than cotton or satin, for example. It’s grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, does not require irrigation, produces more oxygen than trees, sequesters carbon dioxide and can be harvested in three to five years.”
“Tens of thousands of consumers have worn the Shapeez brand over the years and have grown the brand to where it is today,” he concluded. “We are a known and trusted name. This will make it easier for retailers to add Pajameez to their stores and introduce them to their customers.”
