(Filed Under Fashion News). The Intimate Apparel Square Club (IASC) has announced that Victoria's Secret is this year's "brand with a heart."
The nonprofit organization will honor the lingerie giant with the 2009 Hug Award at their annual fundraising event scheduled for November 4th, 2009, which will benefit programs at the pedriatic wing of the Rusk Institute at New York University's Langone Medical Center. Sharen Jester Turney, chief executive officer and president of Victoria's Secret, will accept the award on behalf of the company.
"We are thrilled to have a honoree of this caliber," Gary Hughes, the IASC's president, Gary Hughes, commented. "Victoria's Secret is an undisputed leader in lingerie, glamour and elegance, and as our 2009 honoree, they have shown that they are also a brand with a heart. We anticipate this as our best fundraising year yet."
Since 1999, the annual HUG award gala has raised more than $3 million for Rusk.
Founded in 1955, IASC is a nonprofit group made up of lingerie industry professionals dedicated to raising funds for charities. To learn more about the group's work, call them at (845) 758-5752.see more
