(Filed Under Fashion News). Owners of Fairvilla Megastore have brought Orlando, Florida residents a lighter version of fun with Fun Factory.
According to Debra Peterson, the company’s director of marketing, the Fun Factory store boasts good-time merchandise that “does not require an adult license.” In other words, none of the adult videos and racy toys of Fairvilla are available, but it does offer plenty of funny gag gifts, novelties and entertainment games (including beer pong), to its customer base, which consists of students from the nearby University of Central Florida and 18-to-34-year-olds looking for bachelorette and themed party gifts.
Additionally, the store carries boxed lingerie by Forplay and Dreamgirl, costumes year-round and student-friendly products such as foam chairs and other furniture.
According to Peterson, the store, which opened in October, has already seen a lot of repeat business. Although she described their primary clientele as in the 18-to-34-year-old range, Fun Factory is working on also tapping into the 34-to-50-year-old demographic.
She is looking forward to the fall season, when football fans of all ages will flood the town during game time at the university. Other plans include working with local, like-minded businesses to sponsor events, and offering party planning services.
The company recently performed their ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening party with the local chamber of commerce. Peterson said that chamber members gave them “a lot of positive feedback.”
