(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Coping during the Covid19 shutdown and related restrictions has taken many different forms. In this interview, BODY associate publisher Ted Vayos interviewed Mary Jordan of Bra La La, an intimates store in Fulton, Maryland.

VAYOS: How long was your business closed during the Covid19 crisis?

JORDAN: We were closed from March 17 to June 1st, 2020.

VAYOS: Did you continue doing business with your customer base while closed?

JORDAN: I did continue to do business via virtual appointments, phone orders, constant contact and emails.

VAYOS: Did you make any special offers to your customers while your store was closed?

JORDAN: I offered 20% off products and free shipping and I personally delivered several bras.

VAYOS: When you reopened your store did your staff and customers wear masks?

JORDAN: Yes.

VAYOS: What social distancing guidelines did you observe following the Covid19 crisis?

JORDAN: We are still assisting our customers with the bra fit experience. We have moved chairs in the lobby so as to allow the six feet distancing amongst the clients.

VAYOS: Did you use any special offers to get customers back into the store when you reopened?

JORDAN: No

VAYOS: Did your customers return to the store to do business?

JORDAN: Yes!  

VAYOS: How has your brick and mortar retail business been since you reopened?

JORDAN: Our store has been very busy. We have never been an appointments required store so this made us nervous but, it has actually been really nice! The customers that make appointments are coming in ready to buy. No one is angry, everyone seems so happy to be there. Customers seem relaxed and want to talk and share their stories. They seem eager to support us and get all their needs taken care of. We still get walk ins but they understand the customers that made appointments get seen first. Our hours are shortened but the new methods have made our life actually easier.
