(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Bra maker Shapeez, has converted its factories to the production of face masks, using facilities that would otherwise have remained closed during the Coronavirus crisis.
“We have decided to add masks to our lineup. And we are going to continue with the mask production, along with our current bra styles, when stores start opening again,” CFO David Berner told BODY. He added that they have received many requests for masks already, noting “we have invested in raw materials and capacity to produce 500,000 masks to start. We will be producing and selling them shortly thru our subsidiary website www.MedicalMasksPlus.com.”
Shapeez’ core collection of bras incorporate the patented back smoothing design that inventor and founder Staci Berner incorporated in the very first bra over a decade ago. Today the collection has grown to include 15 styles.
The new masks are washable and are designed to be re-used. “We are using a special anti-bacterial, odor resistant, fabric on the inside of the mask. For the outside of the mask we are using a high tech, 100% polypropylene fabric that can be ironed, washed and repels liquids. The mask itself is pleated and comes in a grey.” The masks will wholesale for around $4.25 and are going to be sold in bags of 24 and 144.
“Masks are used in a wide variety of situations,” Berner continued. “And as a society, I think we will be wearing masks as a regular practice in the future. And, we can’t continue to rely on such good from China in a crisis, when they have to deal with their own problems.” —NM
