(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Mapalé has just launched its 2020 Resort & Swim Collection, with an extensive array of styles that fills a catalog of over 175 pages.
Co-owner and designer Angela Tobon said the company released resort and swim earlier this year than ever before, providing retailers an early start on a season that by nature “is very short.” She empahsized that the line is “shipping now” allowing stores everywhere to be ready for “spring break.”
According to the company release, “This collection is setting the trendy tone for what to expect this spring/summer season. We’re talking about textured fabrics, handmade crochet, prints and even neon’s. Variety never looked so good.”
“Texture is a driver for swim in 2020,” Tobon told BODY, noting that jacquard fabrics are used in both black and white suits. “There are also scrunchy fabrics in neon colors and ribbed fabric in neon and white. The texture pops out.”
The huge 2020 collection also includes “feline prints” in bikinis, monkini’s and one-piece suits. “The artful concept of the cut-outs, cage style and one shoulder constructions have a primitive modern flair that just works. Tarzan’s Jane beachwear in 2020 would feature this line,” according to Mapalé.
The line’s “handmade crochet and decorative macramé ensembles” imitate “the elements of nature with the neutral colors that resemble earth and the blue tie-dye that resembles water.” Elsewhere in the collection “Mediterranean print, and deep blues are gorgeously accentuated,” and in another grouping, floral prints are featured in a “tropical island” collection. Retail prices range from $24 to $60, price points that “allow Mapalé to be in all stores, pretty much,” concluded Tobon.
