(Filed Under wholesale Men's Underwear News). “Ambassador 1867,” a Danish men’s robe and sleepwear company, is coming to Curve in February. It will be the first U.S. trade show appearance for the brand, which currently has no North American retailers.
According to Christian Melchior, the current owner, his family has, indeed, been producing Ambassador nightwear since 1867, and currently offers a particularly wide selection of styles, prints, sizes and colors.
For North America, pajama prices are expected to retail starting at $89 and robes starting at $120.
“We work with organic cotton, GOTS certification,” emphasized Melchior, referring to the international textile standard. Properly cared for, he added, his pajama will last for seven to ten years, “and we will give a new one if not.”
“We are sold in around 300 shops in Scandinavia and around 20 shops in Holland,” he told BODY. “Our customers are gentlemen’s stores and young fashion webshops like YOOX, Italy and Men Luxury, Belgium.” He described his collection as one for relaxing. “Cozy time alone or with family. Slow time. Clothes for when you want to be you.”
“We are doing high quality and design which lasts for a lifetime, in original cuts which fit everybody.”
As to the sales effort in North America, “We are looking for department stores, gentlemen’s stores and webshops at the medium and high end market.” The company is also seeking sales representation here. “Before we have found a partner the contact person will be me: Christian Melchior, +454032 4788, Cm@ambassador1867.com.” He will be attending the Curve show himself.
“We have one of the world’s biggest collections and because we have made home wear since 1867 we have a unique knowledge,” Melchior boasted. — NM
