Interfiliere NY, October 16-17 At Javits Center

Interfiliere NY opens October 16th and runs for two days in the River Pavilion at Manhattan’s Javits Center. “70 Exhibiting mills” will host a promised “600+ attendees” made up exclusively of “intimate apparel, swimwear and athleisure buyers,” according producer Eurovet Americas.

The event will connect “intimate apparel brands with a curated selection of the most innovative mills, accessory suppliers and sourcing companies from around the world.”

Several workshops will be held during the show. Wednesday, October 16, 11am - 12pm, is the “Sustainability in Swim x Sports x Intimates Conference” with “a panel comprising key industry brands” that will discuss “sustainability and their innovation efforts used in their designs and fabric sourcing. Brands will reflect on their objectives and processes to produce the most innovative products. There will be a focus on high-performance fabrics, sustainability, and design improvements. Confirmed panelists include a sustainable running shoe pioneer Brooks executive, Egemen Izci - raw materials Innovation manager of Lululemon and moderator Stephanie Muhlenfeld, founder of The Squad - Creative Consulting Group.”

Later on Wednesday, from 4:45 PM to 5:30 PM Jos Berry of Concepts Paris returns to Interfiliere to host a “CREATIV’LAB” entitled “Trends Around The World,” which will showcase “current and future trends through visual graphics and samples from exhibiting mills. “We have observed a slow emerging new Lingerie Era,” according to Berry, “characterized by women who celebrate their uniqueness. This is reflected in the growing diversity of shapes, sizes, material, and color aesthetics. On top of that, there is a dominating role for comfort, versatility and seduction inspired by individual lifestyles and morphology, plus establishing awareness of sustainability.” Important trends this season: “1) the need to move and be active, 2) the need to discover and travel, 3) the need to relax and revive and 4) the need to experience nature.”

Thursday, from 4PM to 5PM there is a talk, “Steps and Solutions to Sustainability” with LIM College. “This talk will focus on sourcing, transportation, packaging, social rights, costing and marketing. The presentation will educate brands on best practices to achieve sustainability and sourcing solutions.” The event will be followed by a cocktail hour.

In addition, the show will include a display area, “Swim x Sport x Innovation Hub.” This section, designed in conjunction with LIM College, will feature “samples from the Interfiliere New York exhibiting mills.” Fabric and design innovations on display will include: technical innovations; quick drying products; muscular compression; UV protection: chlorine resistance; isothermal solutions; sustainable solutions; recycled materials; bio-sourced products; bio-degradeable materials; organic products; and fashion prototypes and drawings. “Explore how bras, underwear, activewear and swimwear of the future can harness new technology for enhanced comfort, fit and sustainability.”
