(Filed Under wholesale Accessories News). The Breast Friend, a new bra clip that improves the fit of bras, will be exhibiting at the upcoming Curve show. Designer and owner Christopher Webb told BODY it is the first trade show for the item, which has only been sold, to date, to consumers on his website.
He describes his invention as “a small, comfortable clip that attaches to the back of the bra” which can remove up to “2.5” of extra slack” in the straps, improving lift and cleavage.
Webb explains on his website that “working at Victoria’s Secret for a number of years, I was astonished at how frequently women purchased new bras, especially at such high prices. When I asked why they were purchasing so often, one of the top complaints I heard was that they lost support within a few months, if they wore their bras regularly.”
“Fast-forward a few years later my mother in law began complaining that her bras, although relatively new, no longer provided the right support and lift,” he continued. “Knowing my design background she challenged me to find a solution because she was sick of constantly spending money on new bras. Instantly my wheels started turning. I spent time drawing and testing and ultimately connected the dots to develop a product that would finally address this need for her and other women.”
In emailed response to questions, Webb said he launched the parent company for the product, “Trunimiety LLC in the fall of 2016, with the intention of developing and bringing to market my bra clips, The Breast Friend (TBF).” He added, “I spent approximately five years working as a stockroom associate for Victoria’s Secret, before acquiring my undergraduate and graduate degrees in industrial design. The combination of these two experiences has afforded me this amazing opportunity.”
The Breast Friend currently sells on the company website (www.thebreastfriend.com) for $12.99 for a set of six clips (two of each color, Black, Tan, and Clear).
“Currently TBF is the only product in our collection, and will be the only product displayed at the Curve expo. Please know though, other products are in early phases of design and production, and I hope to have them available to show in the coming year.”
Webb concluded, “I will be attending the show, with assistance from my fiancée Alex, who has provided me with constant encouragement and support as I embark on this adventure.” Contact him at: firstname.lastname@example.org. — NM
