“Jim is an exceptional leader, with a solid track record of driving results and creating value at a number of multi-brand consumer-based companies,” said Alan Rosskamm, Charming’s board chairman.

Fogarty has held positions at Alvarez & Marsal, serving as managing director; Levi Strauss & Co., serving as CFO; Warnaco, serving as SVP and CFO, among others.

At January 31, 2009, Charming Shoppes operated 2,301 retail stores in 48 states under the names Lane Bryant, Fashion bug, Catherines Plus Sizes, Lane Bryant Outlet and Petite Sophisticate Outlet.
