(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Shock Absorber has just introduced a new sports bra, “The Active Crop Top” (style S04NO) that is now being shown to retailers.

“The Crop Top Bra is a completely new bra to our line up, that we will be introducing at Curve NYC and that will be selling for the first time in our AW17 collection. The retail price is $49. We will have it in black, purple, building print and pink,” Marina Sharpe told BODY.

The new bra features “soft, non-rub hook and eye, crop top design with internal cup-sized support; moisture-wicking, high performance fabrics,” and is easy to put on and remove, according to a company description. It comes in sizes XS/S/M/L/XL. Sharpe emphasized the bra “reduces bounce by 55% [and] is a great style piece that also offers wonderful support.”

The label’s new AW17 collection contains a total of 10 styles in all, with retail prices ranging from $59 to $79. Shock Absorber was launched in 1995 and eventually acquired by Hanes. “ZG Collective is the U.S. distributor for the brand starting in 2016,” said Sharpe, adding “ We have a variety of brands including: Phax swimwear, Le Bent socks and base layers.” In previous years, at least three other distributors had handled Shock Absorber in this country.

Sharpe shared her strategy for the bras. “We are hoping to open as many retailers around the country in the small specialty store arena and grow the brand.” The plan seems to be working. Retailers that already carry the bras here include “Linda’s, Title Nine, Coup De Foudre, and the Pencil Test to name a few.”

“Shock Absorber is the #1 selling sports bra in the UK, and sells all over the world,” continued Sharpe. “All of our bras have at least 55% bounce control up to 78% with our Ultimate Run Bra. Each bra we introduce is tested at the University of Portsmouth in England where they specialize in breast health. The bras are specifically designed to reduce bounce through encapsulation, and relieve pressure points on the body during activity for women of all shapes.”
