(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). The Intimate Show, a potential new trade event April 3-5 at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, was announced by Michael Moreira and John Pace, two key executives who had worked previously at the recently canceled International Lingerie Show (ILS).
In an email, apparently sent Friday, January 6 and addressed to “Everyone,” Moreira wrote, “John and I have been contacted by many of you to give you another option to exhibit. Accordingly, We are announcing the Intimate Show.” The email continued, “The Booth price will be 2,700 with a hotel room for 3 nights. We will have a Monday night Meet N Greet.” It concluded, “We are ready to go and need to know if you are interested as soon as possible.” Calls and emails to Moreira and Pace had not been returned as we went to press.
A competing event, The Altitude Show, which was announced over two months ago, is scheduled to open the afternoon of Sunday, April 2 and run the next two full days, at Planet Hollywood, about 2000 feet down the Strip from the Tropicana. That show has already confirmed the participation of over two dozen prominent wholesalers of “sexy” lingerie, according to an article in BODY published the first week in January. Jeff Yunis, owner of the International Lingerie Show, had abruptly canceled his event earlier that week. His show had also been planned to run April 3 through 5.
A copy of Moreira’s email, supplied to BODY, contained the addresses of over a hundred intimate apparel wholesalers and executives. Several of those confirmed that they had received the email. The letter concluded, “Please contact John at 704-662-8793 or Michael at 305-598-7019 and we can provide more details.” — NM
