(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). “We are very happy at this stage,” declared Jeff Yunis, owner of the International Lingerie Show (ILS), as he discussed the upcoming, April 3-5, 2017 edition of his event in Las Vegas. “We know the companies who are coming back, and we have already signed eight new exhibitors.”
The April show will be the first show to be held at the recently renovated Westgate Hotel (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton). “Most Exhibitors were thrilled at the September show,” he said of the recent event, the last to be held at the Rio Hotel. “Exhibitors were seeing buyers they had never met before because those buyers used to buy from exhibitors who decided to pass the September show. Of course, regular ILS buyers were there in force.” (BODY published a seven-page report, featuring photos of buyers and exhibitors in the October issue).
For the upcoming show, Yunis said he expects to eventually sign a total of about two dozen new exhibitors, to join the over 130 existing brands at the show. “Our buyers will be able to fill there stores with every imaginable item right from our show floor. There will be no reason to shop anywhere else.” He added he is working on “some new ideas for show specials (which will help offset travel costs) and events to make the show better.” He said he would reveal more details in the near future.
One key step that is yet to come is the creation of a new show layout. Yunis has said the floor plan will roughly follow that of the September show, with minor adjustments to fit the new venue. He is currently soliciting confirmations from exhibitors so he can finalize the design.
“The most surprising thing,” concluded Yunis, “is the tremendous early pre-registration for the April show. This shows two things: A: the buyers are thrilled with the new venue and B: it was easy to replace the brands that passed in September.”
