(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Belgian hosiery and shapewear wholesaler Cette is set to launch a tights range designed by Olivier Strelli, a Belgian-based fashion designer who is well known in Europe.

This will mark Strelli's first tights range-he has previously designed several collections of men's and women's merchandise including handbags, shoes, watches, perfumes and bedding. Styles will arrive in stores in August for the Fall 2009 season. This is the first range that is the result of a partnership agreement between Cette and Strelli, which they entered into in late 2008.

The Cette by Olivier Strelli range will consist of six new styles in a variety of colors, adding up to a total of 87 options made from cotton gusset material with flat seams. Styles will be primarily one-tone with an emphasis on color, with shades including clementine, grenadine, violet, pistachio, almond and royal blue. The tights will be opaque and semi-transparent with "designs and fine stripes" according to the company. Although price points have not yet been set, Cette hosiery retails in the United States for between approximately $9 and $55, with most styles within the approximate range of $12 and $25. Their sizes run from S to L, as well as XL in select styles.

According to Cette, Strelli's motivation for partnering with Cette is based in part on his wife's "longstanding love of Cette hosiery."

"Fashion accessories have the power to exude a certain confidence with a woman's every gesture," Strelli commented in a statement released by Cette. "I would rather hear people say, 'what a beautiful woman!' Instead of 'what a beautiful dress.' It is precisely for this woman that I have created this line of hosiery."

The collection will be at Olivier Strelli flagship stores in Europe. According to a statement released by Cette, Cette will be responsible for worldwide distribution to specialist retailers. Brazabra Corp. is responsible for exclusive distribution of Cette products within the United States.
