Footprint Launches Successfully

(Filed Under wholesale Socks News). Footprint, an eco-friendly manufacturer of socks, recently launched its Bamboo Performance Socks at the Go Green Expo held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia held March 13th through the 15th.

According to Cheryl Lovelace, founder and owner of the company, the responses she received at the show were “fantastic!” “We practically sold out of the stock we brought,” she added.

“After extensive research in desired sock performance and comfort from our original socks styles, Footprint engineered anklet bamboo performance socks to satisfy the needs of diabetics to extreme athletes, but also eco-conscious consumers; being the first made of Certified Organic Bamboo,” said Lovlace.

Aside from just feeling soft on your feet, the new socks have minimal to no affect on the environment. “Unlike many other bamboo socks on the market, we offer a high content of 95 percent bamboo, which is imperative for the socks to achieve their ‘moisture management’ and breathability. If the socks contain any cotton, or more synthetics, you defeat their purpose,” said Lovelace. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and 5 percent nylon for elasticity are also used in the production.

The socks, which are available in a unisex anklet style in natural/grey color, fit sizes small through large and retail at $12.99 each or three for $33. Wholesale costs vary depending on the size of the order.

"[The anklet] boasts such attributes as ‘advanced arch support, mesh ventilation and ergonomic toe seam’,” said Lovelace.

The company has even taken a bigger stance at remaining legitimately eco-friendly by providing a reusable hanger for the anklets. “[We] have patented our unique footprint shaped, eco-friendly sock hanger for retail displays, made of biodegradable corn in the U.S.,” said Lovelace. “It’s a ‘cradle to cradle’ design, so instead of wasting the hanger, it can be reused as a bag/chip clip.”

Footprint was able to nab retailers such as Pennsylvania-based Earth Mart at the Go Green Expo, who will not only be carrying the company’s socks, but also purchased Footprint’s handmade unique bamboo sock rack. “We have interest from many running and shoe stores and expect to be in them by April,” said Lovelace. Some of these stores include Training Zone Sports in PA, Kaos Surf Shop in PA and Hulit’s Shoes in NJ.

“Our mission [is] to replace synthetic performance socks with our natural bamboo sock solution,” she said.
