(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Joining the list of companies to offer shaper hosiery is American Essentials who recently launched its new collection for the fall 2009 season: the Ultra Fit Shaper Tight collection under the company’s Calvin Klein license.

This is the first time American Essentials will be offering shapers, said Michele Slade, vice president of sales and marketing at the company.

“This shaper program was very well received in market,” said Slade. “We are taking a bit of a stance with this collection. So much of the sales [in the shaper category] are in the color black, so this collection is offered in only black.”

The collection, which is made of micro fiber yarn, features three styles with a “comfortable waistband” and integrated support zones. “There is a panel on the front and a panel on the black to offer lift,” said Slade. The designs retail at $16.

Although the company has not confirmed orders, many have shown interest. Slade expects the “regulars” will carry the collection, which includes Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom.

The products will hit stores this August.
