(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). The International Lingerie Show opens a three day run at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas on Monday, August 31. The event is a couple of weeks earlier than usual due to an unusual confluence of conflicting holidays including a late Labor Day (Monday, September 7th), along with the Jewish Holidays of Rosh Hashana (Monday and Tuesday, September 14 and 15) and Yom Kippur (Wednesday, September 23).
Despite the date change, the show managers are optimistic about the event. “We have a good number of new exhibitors,” said owner Jeff Yunis, adding that buyer registrations is running strong.
“We signed up a total of 20 or 21 new exhibitors, including two new ones today,” said John Pace, a sales executive. He added that “95% of the new people are clothing companies, lingerie companies, swimwear companies.” In addition to the newcomers, a host of show regulars are returning as well.
Acknowledging that the economy is difficult right now, he noted, “There is still money available to exhibit at our show. It is an exciting show, a show people must attend. Pre-registration has been good. And the new people are excited to come.”
