(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). CMK Distinctive Brands, the marketing and distribution company headed by industry veteran Cynthia Kelly, has just launched an innovative wholesale lingerie ordering platform.
“Our new platform allows a retailer to log in, place orders and manage their account at the same time saving up to 5%.,” explained Russ Kelly, CFO and managing partner of CMK. “Stores can create favorite or NOS [never out of stock] lists, request a quote from their brand advocate or rep among some of the functions. These same functions are available to reps that want to expand their own opportunities. A rep can open an account with CMK and sell our product to their existing customers or to new leads we can provide for them. Reps get paid even if the account logs in and does the work.”
In addition, CMK’s trade partners can see existing inventories for various brands and track their deliveries.
Kelly emphasized that the online ordering system is important, but just one of the many services his company offers. “CMK Distinctive Brands looked at the ability to order second to the need to provide a solutions to highly desirable brands like Zimmerli, Lou and SNOA to establish themselves in the U.S. market. We have developed an ‘omni-channel’ platform in which we incorporate the ability for retailers to log in and order.”
The new platform “means different things depending who you are,” continued Kelly. “To the retailer and retail agents we offer a way to purchase highly desirable products with a discount for the retailer or agent who wants to expand their opportunity. To the retailer, blogger or affiliate, we offer a number of options including ways to ‘drop ship’ content and/or images ready for their online catalog to direct API [application program interface] connections. This can enable the traditional retailer in ways not normally associated with distribution. For the luxury manufacturer CMK can offer a full service for importer of record / stock management / access to retailers, and with some brands, wide support from our brand advocates team.
Kelly said the system “had a soft launch June 15th and we have begun to work with a few ‘early adopters.’ Retailers are welcome to open an account or request their login if they are an existing CMK customer.” As of August, four of the CMK brands are “live” on the system: Lou, SNOA, Fogal and Zimmerli.
Kelly emphasized that becoming a trading partner with CMK is an easy process. “Retailers wishing to explore the site can go to CMKDistinctiveBrands.com. In the upper right they can click Login, and they can create an account on the next page. When CMK receives the account request we will enable ‘wholesale’ status, based on the type of account relationship they seek.”
On the manufacturing side, “CMK caters to luxury brands seeking placement in the key department stores and specialty boutiques in the U.S. We specialize in the segment for a couple of reasons. First, it is an area where we have expertise. We have long standing relationships within the major department stores from sales to on-boarding to accounts payable.”
“There is a demand for services from manufacturers in this segment because it is complex and has lots of cost associated with it. CMK’s models help mitigate these risks for the manufacturer while bringing fine luxury brands to the U.S. retailers.”
