Tallulah Love To Expand Focus On U.S. Market

(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). “Curve marks Tallulah Love’s formal launch into the US market,” explained Michelle Taylor, the founder of the U.K.-based lingerie collection. “The interest we received from U.S. retailers who visited our stand at Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris gave us confidence to commit to the U.S. market and we are very excited to be taking this strategic step.”

The small collection, as pictured on the firm’s website, includes nine panties and thongs (£22 to £30), six bras (£25 to £55), two garter belts (£30) and a bodysuit (£85). Also listed, but not currently offered are corsets, basques and loungewear. “Bodysuits are the newest addition to the Tallulah Love range and we have added some thongs into our Spring/Summer ‘16 collection based on requests from customers and retail buyers.” For the U.S. market, “Suggested retail prices for bras range from $70 to $125 but we also have some lovely gift sets in heart-shaped boxes starting at $55.”

To date, few retailers in this country carry the line (which has been featured in BODY, the last time in January). “Purrmission Lingerie in Santa Barbara, California is a Tallulah Love stockist. It is a gorgeous lingerie boutique, a real haven for women who like personal service,” Taylor told us.

Some Americans has found the collection on the web. “Our online store was designed primarily for the U.K. consumer but we have attracted a small amount of direct sales from the U.S., Ireland and Germany.”

Asked about the company’s strategy for the U.S., Taylor replied, “Tallulah Love is ideally suited to boutique and online retailers and as such this is the area of the market which will be our focus.”

A spokesperson for the company wrote BODY that designer Taylor “marries a taste for theatrics, opulent fabrics and hard-won technical expertise to create gorgeous lingerie. The essence of the brand is French-inspired opulence of high quality, with luxurious fabrics, sophisticated use of colour and strong detailing. Oh, and did I mention a touch of British quirkiness? As a company we have established a reputation in Europe for offering flexibility, creativity and excellent customer service to our retail customers and we will be bringing this same ethos and approach to the U.S.”

In conjunction with the New York Curve show exhibition, “We have just recruited a U.S. representative based in Atlanta, Georgia who will initially be handling both sales and distribution making it easy for buyers. As we grow we will require more support but we are pleased to have secured the services of Kim Fisher.”
